Jones Foster Supports PBCBA Bench Bar Conference Through Leadership and Sponsorship

Jones Foster, a 100-year-old commercial and private client law firm based in West Palm Beach, Florida, was proud to be a sponsor of the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s annual Bench Bar Conference, which was co-chaired this year by litigation shareholder Spencer S. Keyser at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Several Jones Foster attorneys also served as session co-chairs and panelists.

Spencer Keyser, along with co-chair Kalinthia Dillard, organized the conference sessions to address pending issues in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida and establish and reinforce relationships between legal professionals.

The event continues to serve as the largest gathering of judges, attorneys, and paralegals offering a unique forum to share news and insights with the Palm Beach County legal community. This year’s keynote speaker featured Florida Supreme Court Justice Renatha Francis, a former circuit judge of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit.

Mr. Keyser focuses his practice in the areas of complex civil litigation, commercial litigation, and personal injury with extensive litigation experience representing clients in both state and federal courts as well as state administrative and regulatory proceedings. He is an active member of the PBCBA, serving as a board member of its Young Lawyers Section and as a member of its Civil Rules Committee and Law Related Education Committee.

Litigation shareholder Travis J. Foels was co-chair of the Business Litigation Session and Trust & Estate Litigation shareholder Zachary M. Rothman returned for a second year to moderate and co-chair the Probate and Guardianship Session. Litigation attorney Lainey W. Francisco co-chaired the Federal Session of the conference, which featured several district judges and magistrate judges of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Chairman Scott G. Hawkins, a past president of the PBCBA, was one of several panelists to speak during the Business Litigation Session and litigation shareholder Steven J. Rothman was a panelist at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Session.

The PBCBA’s Sidney A. Stubbs Professionalism Award, an honor named after longtime Jones Foster partner and former chairman Sidney A. Stubbs, was also presented during the conference. The annual award recognizes an attorney who has demonstrated or promoted outstanding professionalism in Palm Beach County, as defined by exemplary ethical conduct; character and integrity; respect for the legal system and all its participants; commitment to maintaining the highest levels of professional competence, courtesy, and civility; and commitment to serving clients, the community, and the public good, according to the county bar.
