Jones Foster Attorney Richard C. Vaughan Appointed to Philanthropic Advisory Council of Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties

Jones Foster, a commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, Florida, is pleased to announce that private wealth and tax attorney Richard C. Vaughan has been appointed to serve on the Philanthropic Advisory Council (PAC) of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

The Philanthropic Advisory Council is a distinguished group of professional services executives and advisors who provide the Community Foundation with leadership and guidance in its mission to address the region’s challenges and the diverse needs of the community through strategic philanthropy. As a member of the Council, Richard will support the Foundation’s charitable giving by helping donors align their philanthropic goals with meaningful community initiatives. An experienced trusts and estates attorney who often advises his clients on charitable giving strategies, Richard will also assist the Foundation in matters relating to estate planning and tax planning.

The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through the power of philanthropy. Serving as a trusted partner to donors, nonprofits, and community leaders, the Foundation works to address the region’s most pressing challenges and evolving needs. Through a variety of giving options — including donor-advised funds (DAFs), nonprofit funds, scholarship funds, individual managed accounts, and legacy planning — the Foundation helps individuals and families support causes they care about while creating lasting impact across generations.

Richard Vaughan is a member of Jones Foster’s Private Wealth, Wills, Trusts & Estates and Corporate & Tax teams and concentrates his practice in estate planning, trust and estate administration, business planning, and transactional corporate law.

Richard develops comprehensive estate plans for individuals and families to efficiently preserve their assets, including the use of revocable and irrevocable trusts. He handles all aspects of estate and trust administration from probate matters to asset distribution.

In addition, Richard provides personalized solutions to meet his clients’ business succession goals. He is experienced in creating and maintaining corporate structures within the context of a client’s estate plan, including drafting operating agreements, buy-sell agreements, entity restructuring, and related agreements among shareholders and partners.

Richard graduated from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law where he was a CALI Award Winner in Trial Advocacy and an Excellence in Trial Advocacy scholarship recipient. During his law school studies, he gained valuable experience as a legal extern for the University of Memphis Office of Legal Counsel. Richard went on to earn his Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) in Estate Planning from the Heckerling Graduate Program at the University of Miami School of Law. He also holds an MBA from the University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business and Economics.
