Jones Foster's Joanne M. O’Connor Named to Florida Trend Legal Elite NOTABLE – Women Leaders in Law for Fourth Consecutive Year

Jones Foster, a commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, Florida, announces that litigation shareholder Joanne M. O’Connor has been selected for inclusion in Florida Trend’s Legal Elite NOTABLE – Women Leaders in Law special section for the fourth consecutive year, and will be featured in the magazine’s November 2026 issue.

Ms. O’Connor was among only 128 women attorneys statewide named to this year’s list, and notably, one of just 9 honorees based in West Palm Beach. The distinction highlights women attorneys across Florida who demonstrate exceptional professional achievement, leadership, and contributions to the legal profession and their communities. Ms. O’Connor has earned this recognition since the inaugural edition in 2023.

A Florida Bar Board Certified Business Litigation attorney, Ms. O’Connor represents individuals and businesses in complex commercial disputes involving contracts and business torts, partnership and corporate disagreements, civil RICO claims, real estate and land use litigation. She also frequently serves as an expert witness in state and federal courts on the reasonableness of attorneys’ fees and costs.

In addition to her private practice, Ms. O’Connor serves as Town Attorney for Palm Beach, advising on contracts, land use and zoning, ordinances, and regulatory matters, and oversees all Town litigation. She also counsels other governmental entities on statutory, constitutional, and civil rights claims, and both governmental and private entities on Florida’s Public Records Act and Sunshine Law.

Ms. O’Connor’s contributions to the legal profession extend well beyond her practice. She serves on Jones Foster’s Board of Directors and several internal committees, including Associate Development, Summer Associate, and Board Certification. She is also actively involved in the legal community, currently serving as vice president of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Her previous leadership roles include vice chair of The Florida Bar’s Federal Court Practice Committee and Business Litigation Certification Committee, and president of the Federal Bar Association Palm Beach County Chapter.

Ms. O’Connor is recognized consistently by The Best Lawyers in America, Florida Super Lawyers, and Palm Beach Illustrated's “Top Lawyers” list. She was previously appointed by U.S. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg as Defendants’ Liaison Counsel in the Zantac (Ranitidine) multidistrict products liability litigation, in which summary judgment was granted in favor of the brand-name drug manufacturers.
