Jones Foster’s 2020 Summer Associate Program Commences

Jones Foster is pleased to announce that three summer associates have joined the Firm for its 2020 Summer Associate Program. This year’s summer program scheduled to begin at the end of May was delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The accelerated schedule will run from late June through mid-August.

The Firm’s competitive program admits highly accomplished law students who are dedicated to building a career in the legal field. During their training, summer associates receive invaluable experience, working on actual assignments and engaging daily with shareholders, associates, and clients.

This year’s Summer Associates, Hanna Rubin, Kassandra Satterly, and John Campo will work with various departments throughout the Firm, receiving guidance from locally and nationally recognized attorneys in a variety of practice areas including Real Estate, Litigation, Private Wealth Trust & Estates, Corporate & Tax, and Land Use & Governmental. Each Summer Associate is paired with a mentor throughout the program to receive the support and direction needed to maximize the experience and gain real-world knowledge of the practice areas, client expectations, and job responsibilities of a practicing attorney, including strategic business development skills that will serve in advancing future career goals.

What areas of law are you currently interested in pursuing and why? How do you think the Firm will help you grow in these areas of practice?
I am interested in civil litigation but have yet to narrow down my interests to a specific practice area. I am excited about the opportunity to work at Jones Foster this summer—I believe the Firm’s involvement in a diverse range of practice areas will allow me to gain insight into the many different directions in which I could take my career. To that end, I look forward to working with many of the accomplished litigation attorneys.

What are you most excited to experience as a Summer Associate at Jones Foster? What do you hope to accomplish?
I’m most excited to gain work experience in the private sector as most of my prior work experience has been in the public sector. This summer, I plan to put my legal training and skills to work to deliver positive results for clients and contribute to the Firm. I look forward to new challenges and plan to use this opportunity to grow as a future attorney and sharpen my legal skills. Although the pandemic may make personal interactions a little more difficult, I hope to be a part of client interactions because helping others is one of my greatest motivators. I am also looking forward to building relationships and being mentored by highly skilled and experienced attorneys.

Why did you choose Jones Foster?
I was immediately drawn to Jones Foster because of the Firm’s outstanding transactional practice groups. But beyond that, Jones Foster presented me with an opportunity to join a firm offering both sophisticated legal know-how and a friendly environment. I believe that having a positive workplace culture is a strong indicator of a company’s values, and I wanted to join a firm with values that mirror my own. Likewise, I was impressed by the commitment of the Firm’s attorneys to give back to the community, dedicating their time and energy towards various nonprofits or community outreach organizations in Palm Beach County.
