Jones Foster Shareholder Travis J. Foels Named University of Florida 40 Gators Under 40 Honoree

Mr. Foels is one of just two graduates of the UF Levin College of Law recognized in this year's class, and one of nine honorees representing the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Throughout his career, he has combined a successful litigation practice with a strong commitment to mentorship, leadership, and service. This includes cultivating a lasting connection to UF, where he serves on the Board of Directors of the Levin College of Law Alumni Council, helping to strengthen alumni engagement and support the professional development of the next generation of Gator lawyers. 

“Staying engaged with UF Law has always felt like a natural way to give back to an institution that has contributed so much to my life and career,” Mr. Foels said. “I benefited from the guidance and generosity of those who came before me, and I believe it is important to pay that forward by supporting the next generation of students and young alumni.”

Mr. Foels’ commitment to mentorship extends in his leadership roles at Jones Foster, including as the firm's Recruiting Shareholder, where he collaborates with practice group chairs to identify law student and lateral attorney talent. He is also a member of the firm's Associate Development Committee and Summer Associate Committee, helping to cultivate the next generation of the firm’s attorneys. Mr. Foels’ recognition builds on Jones Foster's longstanding relationship with the University of Florida Levin College of Law, a connection that spans more than a century, beginning with the firm's founders. Today, nearly half of the firm's attorneys have earned J.D. or LL.M. degrees from UF Law.

Mr. Foels was recognized along with the 2026 class of 40 Gators Under 40 during its inaugural Alumni Weekend in late June, bringing together honorees and alumni from across the university for a series of college experiences, networking opportunities, and special events recognizing their achievements.

Travis Foels is a member of the firm's Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Land Use & Governmental practice groups. Travis is a trial and appellate litigator who represents businesses, individuals, and municipalities in complex civil disputes, with an emphasis on real estate litigation, development litigation, commercial litigation, and governmental litigation. He has secured verdicts, summary judgments, dismissals with prejudice, and favorable settlements on behalf of his clients. He has also litigated matters before Florida and federal appellate courts, and has argued before the Florida Supreme Court.

Beyond his industry involvement, Mr. Foels serves on the Board of Directors of the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County and is a member of the Young Professionals Group of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County.

Mr. Foels has been recognized in several leading peer-reviewed legal directories, including The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch for commercial litigation and real estate litigation, Florida Super Lawyers: Rising Stars for Personal Injury General: Defense, and Palm Beach Illustrated’s “Top Lawyers” in the categories of business litigation and commercial litigation. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he finished in the top 3% in his class and was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Coif.
