Jones Foster Attorney Lainey W. Francisco Selected to Participate in Florida Farm Bureau Federation Leadership Program

Jones Foster, a commercial and private client law firm, is pleased to announce that litigation and land use attorney Lainey W. Francisco has been selected to participate in the Florida Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmers & Ranchers Leadership Class 11.

Ms. Francisco, along with her husband, are among 20 class members selected from across Florida and will represent the agricultural interests of District 7, which includes Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties. The two-year program is designed to cultivate future leaders in Florida agriculture through advanced training in public speaking, media relations, legislative awareness, issue advocacy, business management, and service leadership.

As part of the program, Ms. Francisco participated in Farm Bureau Day in Tallahassee, where class members met with key policymakers from the Florida House and Senate. Discussions focused on legislative priorities impacting Florida agriculture, including the Florida Farm Bill, farmers’ access to essential agricultural tools, wildlife management, crop protection laws, and funding initiatives aimed at strengthening the state’s food supply. During the State Capitol visit, Ms. Francisco also met with Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson to discuss issues affecting Florida’s farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. The advocacy day concluded with the Taste of Florida Agriculture reception, where attendees sampled Florida-grown foods, connected with public officials, and explored the diversity of the state’s agricultural industry.

The Florida Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest agricultural organization, representing farm families who produce all 300 of Florida’s agricultural commodities and advocating to enhance farm enterprises and improve rural communities statewide.

A St. Lucie County native, Ms. Francisco is actively involved in the local legal and civic community, currently serving as president of the St. Lucie Bar Association and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rupert J. Smith Law Library of St. Lucie County, Florida. She is also a graduate of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership St. Lucie program.
