Jones Foster, a full-service commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, Florida, is pleased to announce that litigation and land use attorney Lainey W. Francisco was inducted as Vice President/President-Elect of the Federal Bar Association Palm Beach County Chapter during the Annual Induction of the Officers.
The installation ceremony was held at Jones Foster’s West Palm Beach office, where U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce E. Reinhart administered the oath of office. Other officers who were sworn in included former Jones Foster associate Hanna Rubin, now a judicial law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Shaniek M. Maynard, as Chapter President; Alexandra Chase as Treasurer; Ismail Ercan as Secretary; and Violette Bishai as National Delegate. While in law school, Ms. Francisco gained valuable experience as a judicial extern under Judge Reinhart. Judge Reinhart also provided updates on federal judges serving on the bench in the Southern District of Florida.
As Vice President/President-Elect, Ms. Francisco will collaborate with chapter officers and committee chairs to create meaningful opportunities for members to engage with the federal judiciary through events and programs. An active member of the organization, she previously served as chapter treasurer and co-chair of the Civil Service and Outreach Committee.
The ceremony also highlighted committee chairs and civics liaisons, including Jones Foster litigation attorney Michael B. Habib, who was elected Civics Liaison for the chapter’s nationally recognized Civil Discourse and Difficult Decisions (CD3) program. The initiative introduces high school and college students to federal courtrooms, helping them develop civil discourse and decision-making skills essential to law and life.
Several Jones Foster attorneys attended the event to support the new board, including former FBA chapter president and shareholder Joanne M. O’Connor, Chairman Scott G. Hawkins, shareholders Steven J. Rothman and Roberto M. Vargas, as well as U.S. Magistrate Judge Ryon M. McCabe.
Lainey Francisco, a member of Jones Foster’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Land Use & Governmental practice groups, represents clients in matters involving commercial litigation, governmental litigation, municipal law, land use and zoning.
Ms. Francisco holds leadership roles within several other industry organizations, including as President of the St. Lucie Bar Association; a member of the 19th Judicial Circuit’s Professionalism Panel Executive Board; and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rupert J. Smith Law Library of St. Lucie County Florida. She is a graduate of the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership St. Lucie program and has been recognized in several industry publications for her practice, including in The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America and Palm Beach Illustrated’s “Top Lawyers” lists.
Ms. Francisco graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While attending law school, was a Jones Foster Summer Associate and Certified Legal Intern for the 19th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office.
