Jones Foster Attorneys Appointed to Palm Beach County Bar Association Committees

Jones Foster litigation attorneys have received committee appointments and reappointments from the Palm Beach County Bar Association (PBCBA) to serve for the 2023-2024 term effective July 1. As members of PBCBA committees, the attorneys will further develop leadership skills and build and enhance relationships with fellow Bar members and the judiciary while meeting committee goals and contributing to the important work of the local bar.

Shareholder Joanne M. O’Connor was reappointed to serve as co-chair of the Diversity Internship Program (DIP) on the Committee for Diversity & Inclusion, which seeks to promote and facilitate the growth of diversity and inclusion in the local legal community through education, community involvement, and social engagement with people of varying race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, ethnicity, national origin, age, and mental and physical disability, according to the PBCBA. The DIP provides diverse law school students opportunities to gain work experience at local law firms and government agencies; network with attorneys and members of the judiciary; and obtain pathways to future employment in the Palm Beach County legal community.

Associate Brett T. Lashley was newly appointed to serve on the Circuit Court Civil Practice Committee, which is charged with initiating and considering suggestions to improve the local practice, help with community outreach, and coordinate the circuit civil portion of the 2024 Bench Bar Conference agenda.

Associate Spencer S. Keyser was also reappointed to serve on the Circuit Court Civil Practice Committee and the Law Related Education Committee, which seeks to increase the public’s understanding of civics and the judicial system. Committee members will reach out to the community to present interactive and educational programs about civics.

Associate Travis J. Foels was newly appointed to the Business Litigation CLE Committee, which is responsible for organizing continued legal education seminars in business litigation matters.

Associates Alexander L. Brams and Zachary M. Rothman were reappointed to serve on both the Estate/Probate Law CLE Committee and Probate/Guardianship Committee. The Estate/Probate Law Committee is responsible for creating continued legal education seminars in estate and probate matters, while the Probate/Guardianship Committee works to initiate and consider suggestions to improve the practice of law in the areas of probate and guardianship.

In addition, Mr. Brams and Mr. Keyser are newly appointed board members of the PBCBA Young Lawyers Section. The mission of the Young Lawyers Section is to provide community service and networking opportunities to section members, such as Adopt-A-School projects, Habitat for Humanity builds, and serving food at a local homeless shelter. The section also offers opportunities to interact with the judiciary, such as judicial breakfasts, luncheons, and other receptions.
