Jones Foster Attorney Erica R. Haft Elected to East Coast Estate Planning Council Board of Directors

Jones Foster is proud to announce that Private Wealth & Tax attorney Erica R. Haft, LL.M., has been elected to the East Coast Estate Planning Council (ECEPC) of Palm Beach County’s board of directors for the 2023-2024 term at its annual meeting and reception.

As a director, Erica will work with the board to conduct the ECEPC’s 2023-2024 season which will include planning for a variety of member events and the selection of expert speakers to discuss relevant topics on the ever-changing estate planning landscape at regular meetings.

The East Coast Estate Planning Council is dedicated to advancing the estate planning field through continuing education on industry-leading topics, networking opportunities with other established professionals, and the development of relationships through social gatherings. Members of the council include attorneys, certified public accountants, chartered life underwriters, certified financial planners, and other related professionals.

Erica holds an LL.M. in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law and is a member of the Private Wealth, Trusts & Estates and Corporate & Tax practice groups. She concentrates her practice on tax-oriented estate planning, estate and trust administration, and transactional corporate law, and works with clients to create customized estate plans to minimize federal gift taxes, estate taxes, and generation-skipping transfer (GST) taxes. 

In addition, Erica’s experience with corporate law allows her to provide strategic solutions for a client’s business succession goals. She also has experience structuring purchases anonymously to maintain a client’s privacy when acquiring assets and devotes a significant portion of her practice to corporate law transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate sales, and corporate restructuring. She also handles corporate governance matters such as state relocation and internal affairs.

In addition to her leadership role with the ECEPC, Erica is active in several industry organizations including The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section and Tax Section, the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Section, and the Palm Beach Tax Institute. Ms. Haft also holds leadership positions within the local arts community, including the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and the Norton Museum of Art, and serves on several committees with the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches.
