Genny Bernstein is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Elder Law and member of Jones Foster's Private Wealth, Trusts & Estates practice group. Genny focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, wills and trusts, guardianships, special needs trusts, veteran benefits, and asset planning and protection for Medicaid to assist in obtaining benefits for home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court and Florida Courts and is an Accredited Attorney for claims, preparation, presentation and prosecution with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Genny is a regular speaker on the topics of elder law, estate planning, and Medicaid and veterans benefits at public and private events, workshops, healthcare fairs, and seminars throughout Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties. She is also actively involved in several industry organizations, currently serving as the chair of The Florida Bar Elder Law Section publication committee and the co-chair of the Board Certification Committee of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers Palm Beach County. Genny previously served as a past-chair of The Florida Bar's 15th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee E and as a past instructor of the Elder Law Annual Update and Review Course for The Florida Bar. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA), the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
Genny is consistently named among the Legal Elite by Florida Trend Magazine and Top Lawyers by Palm Beach Illustrated and was recognized by The Florida Bar Elder Law Section as a 2020 Member of the Year.
