Sears has been elected treasurer of the East Coast Estate Planning Council of Palm Beach County’s Board of Directors for the 2025-2026 term.
As treasurer, Rachel will supervise the receipt, custody, and disbursement of the Council’s funds, oversee key financial activities, and ensure the accurate maintenance of its financial records. This new role follows Rachel's first term serving on the Board of Directors, reflecting her continued leadership and commitment to the organization’s mission to serve the professional education and business development needs of Palm Beach County estate planning professionals. Rachel will also serve as co-chair of the Council’s Young Professionals Committee.
The East Coast Estate Planning Council is dedicated to advancing the field of estate planning through education, collaboration, and relationship-building. The Council, which is comprised of trust officers, attorneys, certified public accountants, chartered life underwriters, and certified financial planners, provides valuable opportunities for members to stay informed on industry-leading topics while fostering meaningful professional connections.
Rachel Sears is a member of the Corporate & Tax and Private Wealth, Wills, Trusts & Estates practice groups and concentrates her practice in the areas of corporate law, estate planning, and estate and trust administration. She works with clients on corporate transactions, including transfers of business interests, LLC creation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring, and handles the drafting of comprehensive legal documents to ensure that her clients’ interests are protected at every stage of the transaction process.
Rachel also advises clients on estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives. In addition, she provides counsel to personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries in probate and trust administration, guiding them through the legal and personal challenges that can be involved in administering an estate.
In addition to her leadership role with the East Coast Estate Planning Council, Rachel is an active member of the Palm Beach Tax Institute and the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. She is involved in several bar organizations, including The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, and is a member of the Young Lawyers sections of The Florida Bar, Palm Beach County Bar Association, and the ABA.
