Jones Foster Attorney Rachel L. Sears Elected to East Coast Estate Planning Council Board of Directors

Jones Foster is proud to announce that trusts and estates attorney Rachel L. Sears was elected to the East Coast Estate Planning Council (ECEPC) of Palm Beach County’s board of directors for the 2024-2025 term during its annual meeting and reception.

In her role as a director, Rachel will work with the board to organize the ECEPC’s 2024-2025 season which will include planning for a variety of member events and selecting expert speakers to discuss relevant topics on the ever-changing estate planning landscape at regular meetings.

The ECEPC is dedicated to advancing the estate planning field through continuing education on industry-leading topics, networking opportunities with other established professionals, and the development of relationships through social gatherings. Members of the council include attorneys, certified public accountants, chartered life underwriters, certified financial planners, and other related professionals.

Rachel is a member of the Private Wealth, Wills, Trusts & Estates and Corporate & Tax practice groups and concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, and corporate law. She works with clients on estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives. In addition, she provides counsel to personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries in probate and trust administration, guiding them through the legal and personal challenges that can be involved in administering an estate.

Rachel also advises clients on corporate transactions, including transfers of business interests, LLC creation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring, and handles the drafting of comprehensive legal documents to ensure that her clients’ interests are protected at every stage of the transaction process.

In addition to her leadership role with the Council, Rachel is an active member of the Palm Beach Tax Institute and the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. She is involved in several bar organizations, including The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, and is a member of the Young Lawyers sections of The Florida Bar, the Palm Beach Bar Association, and the ABA.
