Jones Foster, a 100-year-old commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, Florida, is pleased to announce that attorney Genny Bernstein has been installed as a member of the board of directors of the newly established Jewish Lawyers Association of Palm Beach County (JLA PBC) during the organization’s inaugural event.
More than 200 legal professionals, including local attorneys and members of the judiciary, friends, and allies gathered at the Historic 1916 Courthouse at the Historical Society of Palm Beach County to officially establish the organization. Genny was one of 12 board member sworn in as the organization’s founding leaders, in addition to the seven officers of the executive board.
West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James, Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Carlos Muniz, and JLA PBC President Gary Lesser were featured speakers at the event and spoke about the importance of the organization, community, and unity, and emphasized the need to speak out against antisemitism and intolerance. Jones Foster shareholders Steven J. Rothman and Zachary M. Rothman also participated in the event.
The Jewish Lawyers Association of Palm Beach County was founded to bring together and represent the interests of Jewish attorneys and allies to foster a legal community dedicated to upholding the principles of inclusion, justice, integrity, and morality. The organization will seek to promote and educate about Jewish cultural heritage, protect members’ common interests, strengthen the community, and stand up to antisemitism and intolerance.
Genny Bernstein is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Elder Law and a member of Jones Foster's Private Wealth, Wills, Trusts & Estates practice group. She focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, wills and trusts, guardianships, special needs trusts, veteran benefits, and asset planning and protection for Medicaid to assist in obtaining benefits for home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities. Genny is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court and Florida Courts and is an Accredited Attorney for claims, preparation, presentation, and prosecution with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
In addition to JLA PBC, Genny is actively involved in several industry organizations, including The Florida Bar Elder Law Section publication committee of which she is chair and editor of The Advocate newsletter, as well as a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA), and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar.
