Genny Bernstein Named Chair of The Florida Bar Elder Law Publication Committee

Jones Foster is pleased to announce that Estate Planning and Board Certified Elder Law Attorney, Genny Bernstein, has been appointed Chair of the Florida Bar’s Elder Law Section Publication Committee for the 2020-2021 term.

As Chair, Genny will be responsible for the publication of the Section’s newsletter, The Elder Law Advocate. Released 3 times per year, the newsletter provides South Florida Elder Law practitioners with legal insights, recommendations and strategies, industry resources, and analysis of case law and new legislation affecting the elderly and individuals with special needs.

The Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar exists to cultivate and promote professionalism, expertise, and knowledge in the practice of law regarding issues affecting the elderly and persons with special needs, and advocates on behalf of its members.

Genny is a member of the Firm’s Private Wealth, Trusts & Estates practice group. She focuses her practice in the areas of, Elder Law, Estate Planning, Wills and Trusts, Guardianships, Special Needs Trusts, Veteran Benefits, and Asset Planning and Protection for Medicaid to assist in obtaining benefits for home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court and Florida Courts and is an Accredited Attorney for Claims, Preparation, Presentation and Prosecution with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Genny is a regular speaker on the topics of Estate Planning, and Elder Law issues including Medicaid and Veterans Benefits at public and private events, workshops, healthcare fairs, and seminars throughout Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties. She is actively involved in several industry organizations and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Board Certification Committee for the Florida Association for Women Lawyers Palm Beach County (FAWL PBC). She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys (AFELA), the Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, and the Palm Beach County Bar Association.
