Sidney A. Stubbs Honored with St. Mark’s Episcopal Church & School Cornerstone Service Award

Sidney A. Stubbs, litigation attorney and former Chairman of Jones Foster, was honored along with his late wife, Annette Stubbs, with the Cornerstone Service Award presented by St. Mark’s Episcopal Church & School at their annual Cornerstone Scholarship Breakfast.

The Cornerstone Service Award honors those individuals who possess a generosity of spirit, selfless character, and who lead and inspire the local community. The Cornerstone Scholarship program seeks to inspire and develop those same characteristics in the scholarship recipients who are chosen from neighboring, underserved communities. Currently, 9 talented students are enrolled in the scholarship program.

Sid and Annette Stubbs began attending St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in the late 1960s when they moved to the West Palm Beach area and Mr. Stubbs began his legal career as an Associate at Jones Foster. For the next 50 years, the Stubbs’ were actively involved with many local non-profits through their leadership roles, fundraising efforts, and financial contributions. Rev. James B. Cook spoke about the couple’s lifelong commitment to education and the pivotal role they played in the initial discussions and funding of a scholarship that led to the development of the Cornerstone Scholarship program.

As a friend and colleague of Mr. Stubbs for 50 years, Jones Foster Chairman Larry B. Alexander addressed the attendees, offering insight into Mr. Stubbs' distinguished career and professional achievements and the lasting impact of his philanthropic endeavors. He also spoke of the Stubbs’ significant community involvement and how their efforts, both individually and collectively, have improved the lives of so many students, seniors, and families throughout Palm Beach County.
