Jones Foster's Robert W. Wilkins Addresses Cyber Resilience and Incident Response Planning at Florida Bar Convention 2026
Jones Foster was proud to participate in the 2026 Florida Bar Convention in Orlando, where Litigation Shareholder and Practice Group Co-Chair Robert W. Wilkins presented on cyber resilience and incident response planning during the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law (CPL) Committee’s four-hour CLE seminar. Mr. Wilkins will serve as committee co-chair for the 2026–27 Bar year beginning July 1.
Selected as part of the President’s Showcase, “Incident Response Plans: A Practical Roadmap for Cyber Resilience,” addressed one of the legal profession's most pressing challenges: helping attorneys and law firms prepare for and respond to cybersecurity incidents in an increasingly complex threat landscape. Topics of discussion included data mapping, cybersecurity maturity assessments, and the development of effective incident response plans (IRPs). Attendees gained practical guidance on developing cyber resilience strategies designed to protect client confidentiality and support compliance with evolving industry best practices.
Mr. Wilkins presented during Session IV, “Tailoring Solutions: Implementing Recommendation 25-1 Across Diverse Legal Practices,” alongside fellow co-chair, Charles “Chuck” Bowen. Their presentation explored how solo practitioners, small firms, and large law firms can adapt and implement IRPs based on the CPL Committee's Recommendation 25-1. They also discussed the role of qualified cyber professionals in helping law firms evaluate risks and strengthen their incident response capabilities. The newly installed co-chairs also led a Q&A session for Bar members, concluding the program.
Jones Foster was proud to sponsor The Florida Bar Convention’s annual Judicial Luncheon, one of the convention’s signature events honoring Florida’s judiciary. State and federal judges from Palm Beach County were in attendance and Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Carlos G. Muniz delivered the “State of the Judiciary Address” in his second and final term as the state’s high court chief. The convention wrapped with the installation of Florida Bar President Michael Fox Orr.
