Jones Foster’s Robert W. Wilkins to Speak at 2026 Florida Bar Convention Cybersecurity CLE

Jones Foster Shareholder Robert W. Wilkins, co-chair of the firm’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, will be a featured speaker during The Florida Bar Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Committee’s continuing legal education program, “Incident Response Plans: A Practical Roadmap for Cyber Resilience,” taking place on Wednesday, June 17 at the 2026 Florida Bar Convention in Orlando, Florida.

The four-hour CLE was selected by The Florida Bar’s Annual Convention Committee as part of the President’s Showcase. Designed to tackle the most pressing issues in the legal profession, these programs are the most highly attended events.

Mr. Wilkins will co-present during Session IV, “Tailoring Solutions: Implementing Recommendation 25-1 Across Diverse Legal Practices,” which will address how solo practitioners, small firms, and large law firms can effectively adapt and implement incident response plans based on the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Committee’s Recommendation 25-1. The program will also discuss the value of engaging qualified experts to help ensure incident response plans are comprehensive, accurate, and aligned with evolving industry best practices. Mr. Wilkins will also participate in a Q&A session concluding the program.

In March 2025, The Florida Bar Technology Committee’s Board of Governors approved the Cybersecurity and Privacy Law Committee's Recommendation 25-1 – Voluntary Implementation of Incident Response Plans, which encourages Florida attorneys and law firms to develop, implement, and annually maintain industry-compliant Incident Response Plans (IRPs). The recommendation reflects the growing importance of cybersecurity preparedness and the need to safeguard sensitive law firm, client, and third-party information from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

Robert Wilkins is a Florida Bar Board Certified Business Litigation attorney with over 35 years of experience as a trial lawyer. He represents clients in complex business litigation matters, including cybersecurity, data breach and related cyber incidents, construction, corporate, LLC and partnership disputes, and commercial real estate matters. He has a deep understanding of technology-related legal issues, including eDiscovery, cybersecurity, data breach, and privacy law. He advises businesses and law firms on data breach regulations and reporting requirements, data mapping, incident response plans, compliance with cyber insurance requirements, state, federal and regulatory privacy related laws, rules and regulations, and oversees insurance carrier responses to cyber incidents to ensure protection of client confidential information and attorney client and work product protected data.

Mr. Wilkins is active within various industry and bar associations, serving as Planning Subcommittee Chair of The Florida Bar's standing committee on Cybersecurity and Privacy Law. In addition, Rob is an active member of The Sedona Conference Working Group 1, Electronic Document Retention and Production, Working Group 11, Data Security and Privacy Liability, and Working Group 13, AI and the Law.
