Jones Foster Volunteers at Palm Beach County Food Bank During Hunger Action Month

Jones Foster, a 100-year-old commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, is proud to support the Palm Beach County Food Bank (PBCFB) through its Jones Foster Impact community involvement program.

The firm chose to volunteer with the nonprofit during Hunger Action Month (September) to raise awareness of the cause and support the vital role the organization plays in the community to combat food insecurity through its many programs which are designed to meet the basic needs of children, families, and senior citizens.

Jones Foster employees gathered at the PBCFB’s newly expanded Lake Worth Beach campus for two afternoon shifts to assemble packages of dried pasta for local food pantry distribution as well as bags of nutritious, easy-to-prepare food that school-age children could bring home for weekend meals.

Jones Foster Impact team members met with PBCFB CEO Jamie Kendall and board chair Marti LaTour and toured the 24,000-square-foot expanded facility to learn more about the Food Bank’s community impact and programming, which included additional warehouse space and loading bays; a state-of-the-art kitchen where hot meals are prepared for program recipients; administrative offices; a children’s playroom for families applying for SNAP benefits; and a modern café and executive conference room available for event bookings.

The Palm Beach County Food Bank is focused on fighting hunger in Palm Beach County through five programs – Partner Marketplace, Pop-Up Farmer's Market, SNAP Benefits Outreach (formerly food stamps), Childhood Hunger Initiatives (Lois' Food4Kids, Weekend Food for Kids, and School Pantries), and Groceries for Seniors, according to its website. The nonprofit supports close to 200 partner agencies to distribute food that reaches nearly 200,000 county residents in need a year.

This Jones Foster Impact “100” initiative is part of a series of community service projects created to support local nonprofits throughout the year as the firm celebrates 100 years as legal counselors in Palm Beach County.
