Jones Foster is proud to serve as the May sponsor of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s (LMC) Blue Friends Society self-guided weekly beach cleanups.
As part of the firm’s JF Impact community involvement program, Jones Foster employees and guests gathered at Loggerhead Park in Juno Beach for the first cleanup of the month. The team was successful in removing a variety of debris including aluminum cans, fishing line that can entangle marine life, as well as bottle caps, wrappers, bags, soda can tabs, and small pieces of plastic that can be ingested by local nesting sea turtles causing injury and even lead to starvation.
The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is dedicated to promoting the conservation of ocean ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles. The nonprofit is the leading authority, locally and internationally, in ocean conservation via sea turtle research, rehabilitation, and educational programs. The facility’s on-site hospital treats nearly 100 sea turtles and 1,000 hatchlings each year.
