Joanne M. O'Connor Featured Panelist at Palm Beach County Bar Association Seminar

Litigation Shareholder Joanne M. O’Connor was one of several panelists at the Palm Beach County Bar Association (PBCBA) continuing legal education (CLE) seminar “Writing Concisely and Persuasively,” presented by the Business Litigation CLE Committee and sponsored in part by Jones Foster.

Joanne O’Connor, a Florida Bar Board-Certified specialist in Business Litigation, was featured alongside U.S. Circuit Court Judge James Nutt and U.S. Magistrate Judge Ryon McCabe to answer questions and comments from attendees throughout the seminar while former Judge William J. Berger served as the session moderator.

The two-hour session held at the Palm Beach Bar Office focused on improving the form of written materials submitted to the Court and how to effectively prepare for hearings. Topics of the interactive discussion included examples of how to “trim the fat” in motions and filings; how to effectively respond to motions; and steps to take after filing a notice of hearing.

The Palm Beach County Bar Association’s mission is to serve its members, foster professionalism, and enhance the public’s understanding and awareness of the legal system. The organization offers members and nonmembers various ways of acquiring CLE credit hours including seminars, webinars, and conferences.
