Jones Foster Litigation Attorney Michael B. Habib Appointed to Federal Bar Association Editorial Board

Jones Foster, a commercial and private client law firm with offices in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Jupiter, Florida, is pleased to announce that litigation attorney Michael B. Habib has been appointed to the Federal Bar Association’s (FBA) Editorial Board for a two-year term.

In this leadership role, Mr. Habib will collaborate with fellow members of the FBA Editorial Board to develop and curate content for The Federal Lawyer, the official magazine of the Federal Bar Association. Published six times per year, The Federal Lawyer is the only professional publication dedicated exclusively to attorneys engaged in federal practice. Members of the Editorial Board contribute to each issue by soliciting articles, reviewing and editing submissions, and proofreading final pages, among other tasks.

The Federal Bar Association is a national organization committed to advancing the professional development of attorneys practicing federal law and fostering communication between the bench and bar in both the public and private sectors. Governance positions such as this standing committee appointment are integral to shaping the FBA’s future and supporting the growth of the federal legal community.

Mr. Habib joined the FBA in 2023 while working as federal judicial law clerk in the Paul G. Rogers Courthouse in West Palm Beach. He is also actively involved in the Federal Bar Association’s Palm Beach County Chapter, where he holds leadership as Civics Liaison for the chapter’s nationally recognized Civil Discourse and Difficult Decisions (CD3) program. Mr. Habib previously served as an attorney coach for the CD3 initiative, which introduces high school and college students to federal courtrooms, helping them develop civil discourse and decision-making skills essential to law and life.

Michael Habib, a member of Jones Foster’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution team, represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters. Mr. Habib gained valuable insight into the state and federal court system upon completion of three judicial clerkships. His experience includes working as a staff attorney to Justice C. Alan Lawson of the Florida Supreme Court; as a federal pro se law clerk to Chief Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga and Judges Beth F. Bloom, Robert N. Scola, Jr., Robin L. Rosenberg, Aileen M. Cannon, and Kenneth A. Marra; and most recently as a federal judicial law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Marty F. Elfenbein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Habib’s deep commitment to civics education and public service is also reflected in his role as secretary of the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Committee for Diversity & Inclusion and as a member of the PBCBA’s Civil Practice Committee. He also volunteers a student mentor for the National Arab American Bar Association.

Mr. Habib earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law and went on to earn a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Global Health Law and a Certificate in U.S. Health Law from Georgetown University Law Center where he was a Global Health Scholar. During his law school studies, he served as a constitutional law research and teaching assistant and as president of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association.
