Stet News: Jones Foster’s Thomas J. Baird on Suni Sands Development Framework
Jones Foster Land Use & Governmental Co-Chair and Jupiter Town Attorney Tom Baird is quoted in a January 2026 article by Stet News addressing the legal considerations behind the $10.5 million Suni Sands settlement, including how the new terms balance preservation with the Town’s standard public review process.
Stet News quotes Mr. Baird as saying, “(the agreement) provides a framework that balances the council’s certificate to dig order but provides the owner with some of the relief he requested.”
He goes on to explain that the settlement preserves more than half of the historically significant property while allowing for a potential development proposal to move forward.
The agreement also requires the Town Council to review the developer’s plans by the end of 2026, ensuring continued public input as the project evolves.
