Jones Foster Attorneys Discuss Florida's New Foreign Donor Ban in Best Lawyers South Florida 2026

The article titled, “Donation Limitations: Do Your Nonprofit Clients Know Where Their Donations Are Sourced?” analyzes Florida’s Senate Bill 700, a new law prohibiting nonprofits, charities, fundraisers, and cause-marketing programs that solicit funds in Florida from soliciting or accepting donations from “foreign sources of concern.”

The attorneys highlight the importance of proactive compliance measures, including revising gift acceptance policies, implementing donor screening and ownership checks through an Honest Services Registry, and training development staff on new requirements.
