As the summer comes to an end, our 2018 Summer Associates, Jesse Hap, Carlee Rizzolo, and Michael Bennett, take a look back at a summer immersed in our West Palm Beach office.
The Firm’s Summer Associate program encourages participants to work closely with various practice groups and attorneys in order to broaden their knowledge and interact with members of each department. During their time here, the 2018 Summer Associates tackled a variety of projects and had the opportunity to attend trials, hearings, depositions, and negotiations. Each received firsthand experience by working with clients in a wide range of industries, participating in monthly departmental meetings, and attending numerous firm and industry events throughout the summer.

Q: How has the program prepared you for a future in law?
A: The summer program has prepared me for a future in law by allowing me to learn and sharpen the skills needed to be a successful attorney. Most notably, however, the program has taught me the importance of being a leader in the community. At Jones Foster you are surrounded by leaders, as evidenced by the various roles and responsibilities the attorneys have taken on. Exposure to such an environment inspires me to be a leader in the community when I embark on my professional career.
Carlee Rizzolo
Q: What did you enjoy most about your time as a summer associate?
A: What I enjoyed most about my time as a summer associate was getting to fully experience what it is like to work at Jones Foster and being a part of the team these past three months. I was able to see the inner-workings of the Firm, partake in several department meetings, and had the opportunity to work closely with attorneys from several different practice groups.

Q: What is one of your most significant accomplishments during your time at Jones Foster?
A: I participated in a multi-million-dollar real estate deal that closed during my time at Jones Foster. During the deal, I helped draft deeds, easements, and other documents which I hadn’t even heard of before. It was a whirlwind, but it was awesome to help move a deal towards the finish line.
