Litigation Shareholder Steven J. Rothman has been inducted as president of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Palm Beach Chapter at the Annual Judicial Recognition and Awards Ceremony held at the Sailfish Club in Palm Beach.
Steve, a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial attorney, has previously served as a board member, vice president, and president-elect of the local chapter.
“I am honored to be the incoming president of the Palm Beach ABOTA chapter, an organization that consists of the premier plaintiffs and defense civil litigators in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Okeechobee counties,” said Steve. “In the coming year, we will continue to focus on promoting the highest level of professionalism and civility in the practice of law, independence of the judiciary, and the right to trial by jury in civil actions.”
ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges and is considered one of the most prestigious affiliations for civil attorneys. Membership is by invitation only and all members must meet a list of professional requirements as well as exhibit the virtues of civility, integrity, and professionalism.
The Palm Beach Chapter is comprised of 96 select members of the legal community. Chapter activities support the mission of ABOTA through educational programs, judiciary events honoring state and federal judges, juror education and recognition, and local scholarships.
Steve is an accomplished trial attorney experienced in high-stakes litigation, often in cases with complex technical issues. He focuses his practice in the areas of product liability, wrongful death, personal injury, defamation, real estate litigation, and commercial litigation, representing clients in matters involving pharmaceutical and nutritional supplements, medical devices, mold contamination, electrical contact and electrocution, under and above-ground utility cases, nursing home negligence, premises liability, negligent security, and equestrian and farm cases.
Steve’s latest leadership role in ABOTA adds to his honors in the legal industry, which includes recognition by Best Lawyers in America as a 2023 Lawyer of the Year in the West Palm Beach metro area.
