Jones Foster is pleased to announce that The Economic Council of Palm Beach County has named Vice-Chair and Litigation Shareholder, Scott G. Hawkins, as Chair of the Policy Committee. The Policy Committee is tasked with identifying policies and issues of importance to the county as well as monitoring county and statewide legislation and ordinances.

Established in 1975, the Economic Council of Palm Beach County is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that supports an open and collaborative relationship between the public and private sectors in Palm Beach County. Membership of the Council is comprised of a diverse mix of different industries of varying sizes in the area whose leaders have an active and influential role in the community.
Scott is a nationally recognized litigation attorney and a past president of The Florida Bar. As a Florida Bar Board Certified Business Litigation specialist, he represents public and private companies in a variety of industries, including technology, medical, environmental, real estate, land use, insurance, and military. Scott focuses his practice in commercial litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property, trade secret disputes, trademark infringement, covenants not to compete, securities, real estate litigation, and claims arising under ERISA Plans. Additionally, Scott regularly serves as an attorney’s fees counsel and expert witness and has been appointed by the courts as a receiver, trustee, statutory investigator (corporate derivative disputes), mediator and special master given his experience, ethics, and judgment.
