Scott G. Hawkins is Recipient of the 2017 Sigma Chi Fraternity’s “Significant Sig” Award

Sigma Chi Fraternity’s “Significant Sig” Award recognizes members who have achieved high levels of professional success. Awarded annually since 1935, the Fraternity has honored more than 1,700 Sigma Chis with the Award. Previous winners include such notables as actor John Wayne, college football championship-winning coach Urban Meyer, and late-night talk show host David Letterman.

Mr. Hawkins is Past-President of The Florida Bar (2011-2012), Past-Chair of the University of Florida Foundation, and is in-coming Chair of the University of Florida College of Law Board of Trustees. He is Florida Bar Board Certified in Business Litigation and practices commercial and corporate litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property, trade secret disputes, covenants not to compete, securities and real estate.

He earned his M.B.A. at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 1985, his law degree from the University of Florida in 1983, and his B.S.B.A. from the University of Florida in 1980.
