Jones Foster Litigation Practice Group Leader and Shareholder Robert W. Wilkins served as a panelist at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) South Florida 11th Annual CLE Conference. The conference was held in person at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL and virtually via Zoom, offering a platform for members to discuss the use and rapid evolution of technology in managing litigation and considerations related to maturing and emerging technologies.
Rob was among a panel of several legal and technology experts assembled for the CLE presentation, “This Side of Litigation Paradise: What Should In-House Counsel Be Considering in 2021?” Topics discussed included technologies that every law department should be considering, technologies that may innovate law practices, and tips and best practices for successfully integrating technology into a law department.
ACC South Florida serves in-house counsel in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties and hosts social events, community service events, and numerous CLE programs each year to provide members with a broad range of information important to in-house counsel.
Rob has over 35 years of experience as a trial lawyer and is a dual Board Certified Specialist in Civil Trial and Business Litigation. Rob represents and counsels clients in complex business litigation matters, including e-discovery, data security and privacy issues, construction litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, employment and non-compete matters, civil RICO, securities, and commercial real estate landlord/tenant matters. He is experienced in defending actions seeking certification of nationwide and statewide classes and has served as Co-Counsel in defense of a multidistrict litigation matter with potential damages in excess of $100 million.
Rob is active within various industry and bar associations. Currently, he is Co-Chair of the E-Discovery Subcommittee and the Data Breach & Internet Subcommittee of the ABA Section of Litigation’s Commercial and Business Litigation Committee. He previously served as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Business Litigation Certification Committee; Chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s (PBCBA) Technology Law Committee; and Vice-Chair of The Florida Bar’s Legal Specialization and Education Committee.
