Jones Foster served as a proud sponsor of The Florida Bar Convention’s Judicial Luncheon and the Federal Judicial Roundtable which took place in Orlando, Florida on June 23, 2022.
The convention’s theme “Back to the Future” was an acknowledgment of the return to a fully in-person event and the Bar forging ahead in adapting to changes in technology, the courts, and the legal profession. The Southeast’s largest legal convention brings together attorneys, judges, and legal professionals for 3 days of continuing legal education, seminars, awards, banquets, and networking.
The annual Judicial Luncheon honored Florida’s Judiciary and is a convention highlight. Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles T. Canady served as the Keynote Speaker for the State of the Judiciary Address.
The Federal Judicial Roundtable is the signature event of The Florida Bar’s Federal Court Practice Committee on which Litigation Shareholder Joanne M. O’Connor serves as a member. Joanne was a panel moderator at the Roundtable, a CLE program that offered a unique opportunity for judges and federal practitioners to have meaningful, interactive, and informal discussions regarding current trends and issues impacting federal practice, such as the use of social media content in litigation, the use of mediation and settlement conferences, and how to foster mentorship and a diverse legal community.
