Jones Foster is pleased to announce that Attorneys Jamie C. Gavigan, Jr. and Scott G. Hawkins have been named Finalists in the Intellectual Property section of the Daily Business Review's "2016 Most Effective Lawyers" list.
This is the 12th annual The Daily Business Review list of Most Effective Lawyers in South Florida, which will be published in a special report on December 5th.
Jamie Gavigan focuses his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, real estate litigation, employment litigation, and intellectual property litigation. He is a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, serving on the Judicial Relations and Professionalism Committees and the Young Lawyers Section Executive Board. He is also active in the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, serving as its liaison for pro bono activities. Gavigan earned his law degree from the University of Florida, and an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. He is President of the Georgetown University Club of Palm Beach.
Scott Hawkins, the firm's Vice-Chair, is Past-President of The Florida Bar (2011-2012) and is a Florida Bar Board Certified Business Litigation Attorney. He practices commercial and corporate litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property, trade secret disputes, covenants not to compete, securities and real estate litigation. His clients include technology companies (internet technology, software development, pharmaceutical product development), major property landowners and insurance companies. Hawkins graduated the University of Florida with a degree in Economics, earned his J.D. from the University of Florida, and graduated with his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, as a Rotary International Foundation Scholar.
