Jones Foster Welcomes 2022 Summer Associates

Jones Foster is pleased to welcome Megan E. Norris and Michael Furnari to the 2022 Summer Associate Program. This competitive program is designed to give highly accomplished law students an authentic law firm experience through mentorship and exposure to all substantive areas of law, paving the way for future career development.

The program takes place in the West Palm Beach office as an in-person, immersive experience where the summer associates receive invaluable experience working on actual assignments and engaging daily with shareholders, associates, and clients.

Megan and Michael will work with various departments throughout the Firm, receiving guidance from senior attorneys and Shareholders who are recognized in a wide range of practice areas including Real Estate, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Private Wealth Trusts & Estates, Corporate & Tax, and Land Use & Governmental. Each Summer Associate is paired with a mentor throughout the program to receive the support and direction needed to maximize the experience and gain real-world knowledge of various areas of law, client expectations, and job responsibilities of a practicing attorney, including strategic business development and marketing skills that will serve in advancing future career goals.

Why did you choose Jones Foster?

In my search for a summer associate program, I hoped to join a highly reputable, invigorating, and well-rounded law firm that would enhance both my professional skills and my legal education. As a native of West Palm Beach, I knew of Jones Foster’s exemplary reputation in the legal community and its well-established and ever-growing group of practicing attorneys. The legal talent at the firm is unparalleled, which offers me a distinctive opportunity to learn and grow as an emerging attorney. Jones Foster’s reputation precedes it in a way that provides a challenging, yet inspiring experience as a Summer Associate.

What are you most excited to experience as a Summer Associate at Jones Foster?

I am very eager to join the legal field, so I am most excited to contribute my abilities to the firm’s output. I hope to expand my understanding of the law, while simultaneously narrowing the focus of my career. I also hope to enhance my research and writing skills, as well as my oral advocacy and professional development. Additionally, I look forward to fully resuming work in person; connecting and collaborating with the attorneys and staff; and learning as much as I can during the 11-week program. I am very excited for this next step in my legal career, and I look forward to utilizing this summer in a way that benefits both myself and Jones Foster.

Why did you choose Jones Foster?

I was drawn to Jones Foster because of the firm’s century-long history in Palm Beach County and its reputation for leadership and philanthropy. I was born and raised in Palm Beach County and Jones Foster’s emphasis on involvement and leadership in the community stood out to me. I was also very impressed by how many lawyers have stayed with the firm for their entire careers, which speaks volumes as to the tremendous culture Jones Foster has developed and maintained. This strong culture was apparent from all my interactions with attorneys here and I am grateful to be a part of it.

What areas of law are you currently interested in pursuing and why?

    I am interested in land use and governmental law, litigation, and real estate. My experience working in government before law school and my classes during law school have prompted my interest in this area. In addition, Palm Beach County is experiencing such strong growth that areas of law that enable me to be a part of its continued flourishing appeal to me.
