Jones Foster is pleased to announce that Litigation and Land Use & Governmental Shareholder James C. Gavigan, Jr. has been named to the Board of Directors of The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches.
The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches represents member businesses at all levels of government, promotes tourism, recruits new business and industry to the area, and addresses critical community concerns. The organization produces special events, professional networking opportunities, committee meetings, educational seminars, and workshops, and provides mentorship and leadership programs to ambitious young professionals.
Jamie focuses his practice in the areas of land use and governmental law and complex commercial litigation with a particular emphasis on real estate, land use and zoning, eminent domain, and property rights.
He assists clients in obtaining land use and development approvals and handles land use disputes involving title and boundary issues, taking claims and condemnation actions, state and local permitting issues, and riparian rights. He also handles matters involving breach of contract, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duty, corporate and partnership disputes, intellectual property and other business torts and real property issues. As an experienced litigator, Jamie represents his clients in state and federal courts throughout Florida, including multidistrict class actions.
Jamie is actively involved in industry and business organizations including The Florida Bar, the Federal Bar Association Palm Beach County Chapter, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, and the Palm Beach County Planning Congress. He is a graduate of the Leadership Palm Beach County Engage program.
